Are They Prepared?

I was at a gathering of believers, the Lead Pastor of the Ministry took the congregation on a 'Grace' prayer point... He asked the congregants to pray to God for grace to go through the incoming year, he also said the Spirit of God would take some of us on a different prayer path and we should allow the Spirit to lead us. As we were praying, I realized I was one of the people the Spirit intended on leading a different prayer point... the Spirit said to me, "They are praying to me, so desperate for grace, if I give it to them, would they still revere Me? Would they still return all glory to Me? They cry out to be equipped for spiritual warfare, when last did they pick up their weapon the Bible? Do they use their weapon to prepare themselves for the war they cry out for? My people are so desperate for new levels... can I trust them when they attain these desired heights they so desperately seek?"

I stood there while everyone else was praying so diligently, weeping uncontrollably, they seemed so passionate about their prayers, speaking in tongues in fact, but how many of them were prepared for the things they so earnestly desire? It is said that you never know a person's true character until you give them unlimited access to money and sex... even the holiest of men and women fall when they attain certain heights where they are deemed demigods by the followers around them. Humans always need a sort of figure to look up to, we are created with a hole in us that is filled by our desires and wants. it is very important that we fill up these holes with God's word and promises, if we do not, we subject ourselves to the perverseness of the devil. Praying for grace and blessings are good, but are we truly ready to receive what we so earnestly desire? Are we mature enough to handle the blessings of God? These are the questions we must ask ourselves so that we do not miss out on God's eternity in the chase of limited and frivolous things...
